Happy St. Urho's Day!
I grew up in Northern Minnesota with two full-blooded Finnish grandfathers (along with a slew of Finnish great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins), which meant wearing purple on St. Urho's Day. I must confess, I'm not wearing purple right now, but I am knitting my ridiculously purple Lacy Cabled Scoop:
I've been getting tons of comments on the color of this yarn. I really love it, and next year I will be totally ready for March 16th! Sisu!

Dude! I totally forgot St Urho's day! My pre-Algebra teacher used to give extra credit for wearing purple on March 16. Thanks for the memories (even if I'm a Swede, not a Finn!)

I love your purple! I forgot my purple today, tho... thanks for the reminder!
What a fun tradition! I enjoyed reading about St. Urho (and Sinikka) at the link.
We wore green today since the kids did St. Patty's stuff at school. I don't know how long it will take to get all the green & gold glitter out of the car, though. :)
What beautiful yarn. I'm off to read about St. Urho now.
Chrissy, I just saw your lovely lace vest in the May Creative Knitting. I haven't seen the hardcopy yet, just in the previews on the Creative Knitting website. Great Job :) There were quite a few patterns I liked in this issue too.
Hmm...I think, since purple is the colour for St. Urho's day (something of which I have never heard), that should be my day..since it's my fav colour!
