I love Heifer; we've done Heifer gifts before. But this year, we're thinking a little closer to home, and are supporting Northeast Emergency Food Program, a small Portland Food Bank. We volunteer there, too.
My 15 year old niece is going through a total bratty-girl phase. So I bought a "share of a sheep" and sent her a card saying a gift was given in her honor to Heifer International. It was pretty much the money I would have given her or spent on some trinket she doesn't need. A not-so-subtle way of saying not everything's about her. Heh. I can be a mean aunt sometimes. ;)
Welcome to the wild & wooly world of knitwear designer Chrissy Gardiner. I'm a mom of two who spends as much time as possible knitting and designing knitting patterns. I have been published in various books and magazines as well as printing my own pattern line, Gardiner Yarn Works. I published my first book, Toe-Up!, in the summer of 2009. It's about socks, of course!
